GUM LINE Faqs
Gum Line Correction is the process of gum contouring involves cutting away or removing excess gum tissue around your teeth.
This procedure can only be done by a dental specialist, it will reshapes or resculpt your gumline. If you have gum recession, the procedure consists of replacing gum tissue. Papillae are the gum that fills the spaces between the teeth. Sometimes the loss of these papillae leads to an unsightly dark triangle.
Unfortunately, the replacement of these papillae is complicated and not possible in a lot of cases. However, at Caterham Smiles, other techniques can reduce or eliminate this problem, such as a Gum Lift.
One of the most popular procedures is a Gum Lift. It involes the gum being brought down or trimmed back, using soft tissue grafting to make teeth appear longer and more proportionate.
If you find you have a lot of excess gum, gum contours can also be used and adjusted.
According to the “golden proportion” of cosmetics, gum lines can be re-created to ensure the gum line is even and all teeth are in proportion to each other.
